VisaFree is a free lookup tool with one job: pick your passport, see where it takes you. We classify 152 destinations against 66 passports — the 40 most powerful by global access plus the most-searched others — into four access types: visa-free, visa on arrival, eVisa/ETA and visa required.

Where the data comes from

There is no free, official global API for visa rules (the authoritative source, IATA Timatic, is licensed to airlines). Our dataset is hand-compiled from:

• public Henley Passport Index-style rankings and methodology,
• IATA Timatic summaries as republished in government advisories and aviation-press reporting,
• each destination’s official visa or immigration portal — linked on every result row so you can confirm directly.

The dataset is versioned and date-stamped; the stamp on the checker shows the last review (currently September 2026). Where a rule is conditional, recently changed or inconsistently published, we mark it verify rather than guess.

What this tool is — and isn’t

It is a planning aid for short-stay tourism. It is not legal advice, not a substitute for the destination’s official sources, and it cannot guarantee entry — airlines verify against Timatic at check-in and border officers have the final word. It doesn’t cover work, study, residence, transit or passport-validity rules.

Who maintains it

VisaFree is maintained by a small independent team that builds focused utility sites. Corrections are our favorite emails — if an entry is wrong, tell us with a link to the official source and we’ll fix it in the next data review.
